Vienna

Austria’s wonderful
capital Vienna spreads along both sides of the “Blue” Danube.
Vienna is the place where the spirit of Austria's biggest history is still
alive. Vienna is composed in 23 districts which all have their own names. The
heart and historical city of Vienna, the Innere Stadt, was once surrounded by
walls and open fields in order to defend itself from potential attackers. The
walls were razed in 1857, making it possible for the city to expand and
eventually merge with the surrounding villages.

Vienna is famous for its
many parks, such as the Stadtpark and Belvedere Park with its baroque-style
castle, the Prater, which is situated on an island formed by the Danube River
and the canal, Schönbrunn, the beautiful Imperial Summer Palace and the world's
oldest zoo. Art and culture have a long tradition in Vienna. The city is home
to a number of opera houses, including the Theater an der Wien, the Staatsoper
and the Volksoper
